Swifts Sports Club proposes to purchase the site known as 95A Brisbane Rd. Booval (current club site) from the Ipswich City Council (the landlord).
As part of the process the club is undertaking a public consultation process to seek feedback from the community on the proposed sale and the boards development concept vision for the future redevelopment of the site.
This process will be facilitated by an independent facilitator, Jacaranda Advisory Group
The proposed redevelopment focus will be to modernise the club, ensure the facility is more family and community ‘friendly’ and provide a modern and accessible community social venue for all club members, members of the Ipswich sporting and general community.
Draft preliminary concepts drawings and plans are on display in the club and the club’s webpage. All community members and stakeholders are encouraged to review the plans.
The public consultation period is from, Thursday 7th November 2019 up to and including Thursday 28th November 2019
During this time the club will hold two public meetings to detail its proposal. The community is invited to attend. The meetings will be held at the Swifts Sports Club, 95A Brisbane Rd Booval on:
Tuesday 19th November at 7.00 pm
Wednesday 20th November at 7.00 pm, and
Any person may make a written submission about any aspect of the proposed purchase during the public consultation period. Submissions must be in writing or by email. Properly made submissions must state the name and residential or business address of each submitter, the grounds of the submission and the facts and circumstances relied on in support of the grounds.
Written submissions must be signed by each person making the submission; however, signatures are not required for online and email (electronic) submissions. Each submission must supply one postal or electronic address for further correspondence regarding the submission.
